fanlisting?According to TFL, a fanlisting is "a place for all fans of a particular show, movie, actor, actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people from all around the world who are fans of that subject.". So, it's just exactly what it says: a list of fans. Maybe you think it isn't a specially useful thing... But isn't something good showing to the world your devotion and love for a determinate character, actor, book or whatever? So, this is what you do when you join a fanlisting. And, of course, you can always have the chance to meet other people who like the same you do... and that's always a great thing :) If you're interested in knowing still more about the fanlistings, check any of both fanlisting networks for more information: The Fanlistings Network / The Anime Fanlistings Network "A pig that doesn't fly... is just a pig"Porco Rosso mixes Hayao Miyazaki's love for aviation and his talent for adventure stories. It was the first of Miyazaki's movies I watched so many years ago... and I think it has something really original... so magic and special - like all his other movies have as well. But though I've enjoyed a lot with Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away or Grave of the Fireflies... Porco Rosso is the one I like the most without a doubt ^_^ Porco Rosso was first planned as a 30-45 minutes in-flight movie on Japan Airlines. It's been described as "a movie which tired businessmen on international flights can enjoy even with their minds dulled due to lack of oxygen." But as Miyazaki's imagination took off, it became a feature-length movie about an Italian Air Force pilot who left the service, due to the rise of fascism, becoming a bounty hunter who assumed the name "Porco Rosso": Porco because of his appearance, and Rosso (red) because of the colour of his plane (the original name of the movie, Kurenai no Buta, means literally "Crimson Pig"). Movie information World War I has ended. It is a time of peace once again, and the Adriatic Sea is filled with flyboys from around the world, many of them trying to recapture the romanticism of flight so many had lost because of the war, other ones who have turned to air piracy. Meanwhile, and with the fascist movement growing in Italy, a pig (Porco Rosso) who was once a human (Marco Porcellini), has become a mercenary law-enforcer of the skies and oceans, wanting to protect people from pirates. His ultimate challenger is Donald Curtis, a American flyboy who competes with Marco ?not only for the skies - but also for the love of Gina, the chanteuse and owner of the Hotel Adrienne. After losing in a dogfight versus Curtis, Porco wants to rebuild his plane for another round and then meets a young girl, Fio, who is an aspiring plane designer who wants to redesign Porco's new plane... Kurenai no Buta (1992) Credited cast (Japanese Version): * In the English version (Disney dub, 2003), the main voices were Michael Keaton (Porco), Cary Elwes (Curtis), Susan Egan (Gina) and Kimberly Williams (Fio). |
