Stats & Information
[Ifrit has been in every Final Fantasy since FF3,
except for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, where summons don't
appear. This page is still under construction as I've only written
information concerning the FF games I've played - VI, VII, VIII,
IX and X. So, I'll add more info as soon as possible ^^;]
>> FFVI <<

Location: the MagiTek Factory's Espers disposal
area. You find him together with Shiva; you must fight and defeat
them both and then they will join your party.
Attack: Inferno (moderate fire damage to all the
enemies; was called originally Hellfire, but it was changed in the
English translation)
Abilities: the character who has Ifrit equipped
can learn three spells: Fire, Fire2 and Drain. Also, every time
the character gains a level, will gain a strength point as well.
>> FFVII <<

Location: on the Shinra Cargo Ship after defeating
Jenova*Birth.
Attack: Hellfire (Ifrit emerges from beneath the
Earth and throws to the enemis a big ball of fire)
AP Growth/usage: at first you can summon Ifrit
just one time every battle. But as you fight and the materia gains
more ability points, Ifrit can be used more times: 2 times when
the materia gets 5000 AP, 3 times with 25000 AP, 4 times with 35000
AP and 5 times once it has 60000 AP.
MP needed: 34
>> FFVIII <<

Location: in the Fire Cavern near the Balamb garden.
You'll have to fight him and beat him in order to take him with
you. You'll also obtain the Ifrit card at the end of the battle.
Attack: Hellfire (Ifrit appears in a whirl of fire.
He leaps into the air, pulling a large chunk of hot molten earth
with him. With a mighty punch, Ifrit sends the large mass of scorching
rock down to the surface, impacting against the enemy)
Abilities: Ifrit can learn several abilities besides
of the basic ones (Magic/GF/Draw/Item); some of these abilities
will increase his own stats or the ones of the equipped character;
other ones will allow you to create magic (fire spells) or items
(ammo) using items. He also can learn the ability Mad Rush,
that will allow the equiped character to use this ability, casting
berserk, haste, protect and shell on all characters in party.
>> FFIX <<

Location: you must equip Garnet with a Topaz so
she can learn the ability to summon Ifrit.
Attack: Flames of Hell (fire elemental damage to
all the enemies). Is stronger when we can see the full animation
where the summon appears, and weaker if a shortened animation occurs.
Trance version: When Garnet is in Trance status,
the summon efects are longer because after being summoned, a shorter
animation will activate at intervals to cause damage on all enemies
(elemental fire damage, in this case). This will continue until
Garnet uses another Eidolon.
>> FFX <<

Location: Kilika temple
Attack: Ifrit can be used as a playable character
after being summoned until he dies or you decide to take him off
the battle, so besides his own attacks he can cast a wide variety
of spells (that you can teach him, using several items). Ifrit has
two own attacks besides them: the Meteor strike, a non-elemental
attack launched at a single enemy (and useful with enemies with
Protect); and his overdrive, Hellfire (Ifrit surrounds his enemies
with a fiery mass that will eventually detonate for a massive amount
of damage).
Initial abilities: NulBlaze, NulFrost, Fire.
Break limit damage: to cause up to 99999 damage
points to enemies, and not only a maximum of 9999 as has always
been in the FF games (except in some special cases, that is), you
must obtain Wakka's legendary weapon, World Champion.
